Please Note
This tutorial is just a guideline. You have "artistic licence"! You can tube your images at any size (scale) you like, thus creating your own depth and perspective. Each tube is placed on its own layer so you can always drag them around with the MOVE tool . This tutorial can also be adapted to other versions of Paint Shop Pro.
STEP ONE
I opened a new image width 1024 x height 768 pixels in size. Raster background with  a tick in the TRANSPARENT box. I always start new images at this size because this size is the same as my Desktop Resolution. So if I were to create an image that really turned out worth setting as my desktop wallpaper then the image is already the perfect fit!

(I did know before hand that this project would not be a wallpaper as the tubes are not large enough to cover an image of that size. Remember NEVER to tube images larger than what they are; i.e never scale over 100%. You just loose quality doing so).

REMEMBER - Working with an image this size is rather large I zoom in to about 60% to see what I am doing.

STEP TWO
Click on the tube brush Barry's Paint Shop Pro Tutorial - Tube Painting and select the SKY TUBE from the tube browser window. Leave the scale at 100%, place the mouse cursor in the centre of the canvas and click once. You now have the sky tube on the base layer - you only have one layer at this stage so far.

You do not have to worry about where you place the tube as long as no part of it is cut off at any edge. If you did make an error, just hit delete on the keyboard or depress CTRL + Z to undo and re-tube.
STEP THREE
Click on your MOVE tool Barry's Paint Shop Pro Tutorial - Tube Painting and drag the tube image to the top of your canvas.
STEP FOUR
Go to LAYERS | ADD NEW RASTER LAYER. I called my new layer TERRAIN. This layer will be above the layer we placed the SKY tube on. There is also a shortcut - you can add a new layer with a single click - See the images below. You can use either method.

CLICK ON THE SHORTCUT ICON TO ADD A LAYER
You do not have to name your new layers, but it does make it easier when you want to drag layers around in the layer browser window. Naming layers is beneficial when you advance to tutorials that use MANY layers! SEE THE IMAGE BELOW.

To drag a layer around - click on it with your mouse - keep the mouse key depressed and either drag the layer upwards or downwards to where you want it.

STEP FIVE
Making sure that you are on the new TERRAIN layer that you created in the steps above, if not click on the terrain layer in your layer browser window - it will be blue now to show activation. (If your layer browser is not visible - press F8 on your keyboard). Click on the TUBE TOOL, browse for the TERRAIN TUBE and click anywhere on your terrain layer.
See Fig. 1
Use the mover tool to drag it to your desired position.

STEP SIX
Add a new layer. Call it TREE. Select the TREE tube. Reduce the scale down to 45, leave the step at 200. Using the MOVER tool Place the tree anywhere you like.

STEP SEVEN
Add a new raster layer. Call it ELEPHANT. Select the ELEPHANT TUBE. I "tubed" the elephant at 55%. Using the mover tool place the elephant to the front of your image.

The elephant is much larger than the tree, giving us the impression that the tree is further away, thus giving our image some perspective.

STEP EIGHT
Add a new raster layer. Call it GRASS. Select the GRASS tube. I tubed the grass at a scale of 45%. Place some grass randomly on top and around the elephants feet, so that it looks as if he is walking through the grass. You can use the mover tool to drag the grass to your desired position as the grass is on its own layer.
